Collect

Collect the originals

Connect your own Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive. Send contributors a link or QR code. They upload without an account, and the original photographs arrive in your storage. The link lets them contribute; it does not let them browse your photographs or your storage.

Curate

Give the photographs an order

Review, attribute and organise the photographs, on your own or with co-curators you invite. Group your selections into Albums and put them in order. Albums are groupings: no photographs are copied and no folders are made during curation.

Commemorate

Keep the collection, and its story

Finish with a readable collection record alongside the originals in your storage: the photographs, their Albums and order, who contributed, and captions. Keep the story as well as the photographs. Ordered Album folders are an optional next step.

Questions people ask

Can contributors see my storage or the collection?
No. The contribution link is for uploading photographs. Contributors cannot see, browse or access your cloud storage, and the link does not open a gallery. Contributors do not need an account and never pay.
What happens to my photographs if I stop using Collecurate?
Your originals remain in your own cloud storage. Collecurate does not delete them from that storage. Keep the exportable collection record alongside them: the surrounding information is not guaranteed to remain available forever, and Collecurate cannot recover information it has irretrievably lost.
Can I use the same account for Collecurate and Roam?
Collecurate and Roam each have their own account and login. Your accounts and data are kept separate.
Is an Album a folder?
An Album is a grouping of photographs and their order. During curation, one photograph can belong to several Albums without making any copies. Finishing produces a readable collection record. Ordered Album folders are optional, and hold copies alongside the originals.
What should I know before asking for Album folders?
Copies use additional storage and can take time. Review the Album count, photograph count, copy count and estimated extra storage before you confirm. A photograph in three Albums is copied three times. You are responsible for having enough space; Collecurate cannot check it for you. You can leave the page while folders are made. No completion time is promised.
Can I download a ZIP file?
ZIP downloads are available when a collection is small enough for them to work reliably. This depends on collection size and reliable delivery, not how much you pay. Larger collections use organised folders in your own storage alongside the collection record.
