Your photographs, your storage
Your photographs go into storage you already own and control. They stay yours. If Collecurate disappeared tomorrow, your photographs would still be exactly where they are.
From their phone to your storage
Connect your own Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive. Contributors upload original photographs through a link or QR code, without compression or conversion. They never get access to your storage: they cannot see, browse or reach anything in that account. The contribution link is a way to upload, not a gallery.
Both Collecurate and Collecurate Roam work from this foundation. Each has its own account, and your accounts and data are kept separate.
The photographs stay yours
Collecurate does not delete photographs from your storage. Excluding a photograph from a collection removes it from the collection, rather than destroying it: it moves to a clearly named separate place in your own storage.
Keep the information as well as the photographs
The exportable collection record describes what was collected, who contributed, captions and how the photographs were organised. Keep it alongside the originals in your storage.
The surrounding record is not promised forever. Collecurate cannot guarantee it can recover information it has irretrievably lost. The photographs remain in your storage because that storage is yours; that does not make Collecurate a backup or recovery service.
Albums are groupings, not folders
In Collecurate, an Album describes which photographs belong together and in what order. During curation, no folders are made and no photographs are copied. One photograph can belong to more than one Album.
Finishing gives you a readable collection record in your own storage. It keeps the captions, contributor details and Album order with your originals. If you also want ordered Album folders, you can ask for them when you finish. The folders contain copies alongside the originals; the originals never move.
Before confirming folders, review the Album count, photograph count, copy count and an estimate of extra storage required. A photograph in three Albums is copied three times. Copies can take time, and you can leave the page while they are made. No duration is promised.
You are responsible for having enough space in your storage. We cannot check that for you. The number of copies depends on the Albums you choose.
ZIP files are available where collection size makes them reliable. This depends on collection size and reliable delivery, not which paid option you choose. Larger collections use organised folders in your storage, alongside the collection record.
Your originals stay yours, whichever option you choose
Every paid Collecurate option works with the same storage providers and gives you the same collection record and export formats. Choose based on how much you want to collect. Photographs remain in storage you control.
